EEN MAGISCHE PLEK

Beschermde natuur

Descent to the Bohon Caves. The road there offers sweeping views and panoramas. After crossing a meadow, we arrive at the Ourthe and follow a narrow path upstream.

Nature slowly changes into a prehistoric landscape with special flora & fauna full of ferns, imposing boulders and ivy that hang down like lianas.

Upwelling lakes and rivers fed by underground sources lead us to the caves. The entrance to the cave is closed, but the place is magical.

The site is a protected nature reserve and a hibernation site for various bat species. This natural cave has two floors and is formed by the underground crossing of a meander of the Ourthe.
