Le Hérou is a wild piece of nature, completely surrounded by the meandering Ourthe River. This unique peninsula is characterized by narrow, adventurous paths and pointed rocky peaks that tower high above the water. It is a place where the elements have free rein and where you can experience the Ardennes at its most rugged.

A spectacular challenge

The route takes you over an impressive rock formation, also called a crête, which runs across the elongated peninsula. For the truly adventurous, a tough descent awaits: using a chain, you descend a 50-meter-high cliff to the riverbank. An uneven trail that requires focus and a good dose of daring.

For the experienced hiker

This hike is highly recommended for hikers without vertigo who are looking for an adrenaline rush. Because of the steep precipices and technical trails, caution is required, but the reward is great: breathtaking panoramas over the valley that you won't find anywhere else.
