Hike Renissart
Adventurous hiking near Hotton

An impressive adventure above the Ourthe

At the Renissart Rocks, you can enjoy a short but highly impressive hike that stimulates all your senses. The route is located on the right bank of the Ourthe, just upstream from the Hotton bridge. The rugged limestone walls alone make this site one of the most characteristic natural phenomena in the region.

Scrambling to breathtaking vistas

The walk starts with immediate character: a fair amount of scrambling challenges you to head for the heights. Once at the top, however, you are richly rewarded. The panoramic view over the winding river and the green valley is truly breathtaking and offers a unique perspective on the Ardennes landscape.

Discover the secrets of the Porte Aïve

Along the way, caves, caverns, and old quarries wait to be discovered. The absolute highlight is the Porte Aïve, the largest cave in the massif. It features an impressive central hall and two narrow passages for you to explore; the longest takes you no less than thirty meters deep into the rocks. Don't forget to bring a flashlight or torch for this underground adventure!
