Los Olivares - an authentic start in the middle of greenery

You start the hike in Los Olivares, a small Andalusian hamlet surrounded by olive groves and hills.
The first meters go through a gently rolling landscape that immediately exudes that typical, serene atmosphere of the Alpujarras.

Mirador de Olivares - first panoramic surprise

Soon you arrive at the Mirador de Olivares, a magnificent viewpoint that overlooks the entire valley.
From here you can see:

• the green undulating hills

• rugged cliffs

• white villages against the mountain slopes

It is a first moment to stop and enjoy the view.

Ermita de San Antón - resting point in a rugged landscape

The route follows a rocky path up toward the Ermita de San Antón, a small secluded chapel impressively built on a rocky outcrop.
The view from here is wide and open, with a panorama stretching across gorges, plateaus and the Mediterranean hills.

Up toward the Mirador de Tózar

Then the trail climbs further to the Mirador de Tózar, perhaps the most beautiful viewpoint of the entire Ruta del Gollizno.
