Dolmens & Menhirs
Stonehenge of the Ardennes

A Celtic past in the Ardennes
The dolmens and menhirs of Wéris - also called megaliths - form an impressive ensemble that is unique in Belgium. This mystical landscape is often called the Stonehenge of the Ardennes.

Like the dolmens in Drenthe (Netherlands), these stones served as burial sites and memorials in Celtic times. They are thousands of years old and still surrounded by riddles and legends.

Mystery & nature

Whether you come for the history or just the atmosphere, the site exudes something magical. Amid the fields and forests surrounding Wéris, the stones are a wonderful place for a walk and a touch of mystery.

Visit Wéris

You can visit the megaliths freely while walking through the village and the surrounding nature. The Megalith House in Wéris provides additional explanations about the origins, customs and stories associated with these special stones.
