Gîte Au Foyer is a former 18th-century farmhouse, decorated with great attention to detail. Located in the rustic village of Wéris, one of the nine most beautiful villages of Wallonia , this is an ideal place for hikers and peace seekers. From the house you can walk straight into the forest. Even your dog is welcome here.
The cottage is surrounded by a large garden with a cozy log cabin with wood stove. At the front is a south-facing terrace, where you can enjoy from March onwards as soon as the sun shows itself.
Inside the house breathes the atmosphere of a cozy cafe: a place to catch up, enjoy good company and good food and drink. Here you feel right at home.
Gîte Au Foyer is suitable for 4 to 6 people and a wonderful place to get together with family or friends. And when it is finally summer, you can enjoy the garden.
A house full of character, with space, tranquility and a touch of nostalgia
As soon as you arrive, the sun hits the south-facing terrace and you immediately see the generous parking space, enough room for three cars. Through the front door you step into a spacious hallway, where coats, hooded boots and shoes find their place. It feels like coming home.
The living room is cozy and attractive, with two comfortable sofas and a leather lounge chair by the wood-burning stove, which soon provides a warm glow. On the wall hangs a Tuscan vista by painter Sonja Bottenheft, which makes you dream for a moment. In the brocante cabinet you will find glasses, a CD player and a large collection of CDs, perfect for an evening of music.
In the dining room, again with a wood-burning stove and a cabinet with crockery. At the sturdy industrial table is fine dining.
The kitchen itself is cozy and snug, with a bar at the cooking area. You will find everything you need: a large gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, Senseo and Nespresso. In the corner of the kitchen is also the downstairs toilet.
On the second floor are four bedrooms. Two of them share a bathroom with toilet, sink and bath with shower,ideal for families or friends. In both rooms are comfortable box spring beds of 90 cm, with single comforters.
The third bedroom has a double box spring of 180 cm wide and an open bathroom with toilet, double sink and a spacious walk-in shower. The fourth bedroom also has its own open bathroom, with toilet, sink and shower. Here you sleep on two box-spring beds 90 cm wide, each with its own comforter.
The garden is enclosed with a charming sheep fence and invites you to relax. There is a log cabin, a barbecue and plenty of space to enjoy nature. Here you can hear the birds and maybe see a squirrel shoot by.

We stayed several days in this beautiful, cozy house. The welcome was very friendly which immediately made us feel at ease. Everything was there, we can't think of anything that wasn't. We wanted to go to the Christmas market and Adventure Valley in Durbuy, which was a 10 minute drive and yet outside all the hustle and bustle. We can highly recommend a stay in this house!
We enjoyed a week's vacation at Au Foyer. Beautiful house, cozy and warmly decorated. Everything you need for a week's vacation. Although the weather was not really suitable on 1 day to enjoy staying garden was great. Large sloping and with all nice corners. The gazebo with canopy completes it. Weris and surroundings great for walking and cycling. Many beautiful villages and towns. Definitely recommended.

We, my husband, niece and myself, spent a midweek in Weris. Au Foyer is a fantastic house with a lovely garden in which we tried all the seating areas. We enjoyed everything immensely. The whole house exudes coziness and has everything you need. We would love to come back.

For the second time we stayed in this fine gite, this time together with friends. What a cozy house! The large, sunny garden was again a wonderful place to relax, especially with the beautiful weather we had. From the house we left for some wonderful walks in the area. Everything you need is there - taken care of to perfection. Astrid welcomed us again with great warmth. We would love to come back again!

We stayed here with family 3 generations (grandparents, their two sons+partner and grandchild) with the intention of doing hikes in this beautiful area and socializing together eating, playing board games, catching up etc. The facilities that Au Foyer offered us were perfect!

Spacious home, good parking, small compact kitchen with everything. Large spacious dining room. Living room cozy but a bit dark ( 1 window to the garden.) Very large garden. Spacious bedrooms. But furnishing old and corny.
Old-fashioned does not sound negative to us. We want to say that it is not new and modern. But that does not mean that it is not good. We had a great time in your house, nothing to be short of and would advise others to rent your house.
We enjoyed our stay in the Ardennes, the house and garden were spacious and the weather also showed its best side. The house has good beds and has 3 bathrooms which was very nice so each generation had its own. The surroundings are beautiful and our dogs had a great time in the garden. Sometimes you had to consider the robotic mower. The barbecue is fine and if the weather is worse, the log cabin with its terrace is a godsend. The chairs in the dining room and on the terrace are made of wood and metal, a day sitting on them you do feel. In case of failure, the administrators are quickly on the spot, they live next door and the parking is shared. One disadvantage we found is that there is no washing machine. You can go to the village 6 km away to a launderette but it is busy, does not wash clean and the laundry does not smell fresh when you take it out. Using the dryers is not a success either. Does not detract from the house so fine but for a longer stay definitely something to consider.
We stayed for a week at Au Foyer; a characterful home that is beautifully decorated. Enjoyed the possibilities that the house and garden offered us. In the area is plenty to do, for the active and bon vivant! Fine contact with Astrid. We know where to find you when we want to visit the Belgian Ardennes again.

Parking in front of the door. A very nice park-like garden with lots of privacy and plenty of seating options. A small supermarket in the village for hot rolls. In short we had a very nice midweek. Beautiful house cozy furnished with spacious rooms. The owners incredibly nice and helpful. We were hit by another car in a sharp turn in the mountains. Due to this incident, the car had to be repaired. After 2 days it could be picked up again. Astrid immediately offered to use one of their cars which I made use of. Great a Fiat 500 that has been on my wish list for some time.
That is a gesture of very good service during a vacation.

We stayed in this cottage for 2 weeks with 2 adults, 4 children and 1 dog.
Here and there the house still needs some work, but overall we were satisfied. The house also has a very beautiful garden, unfortunately a lot of passers-by along the back (which made our dog run wild several times). Possible solution here could be to use the same kind of fence as on the sides (more privacy in the log cabin too then).
Astrid herself, is a very warm and open woman who really makes you feel at home. We will certainly keep good memories of her. As well as the dog of Astrid and Victor.
Despite the fact that 1 week of our vacation literally fell into the water, we had some very nice moments during the 2nd week.
From the house you can walk straight into the forest, which is certainly an added value. Also to the center is barely a 10 minute walk. The larger stores are also a stone's throw away (but you have to take the car).

Our garden flows into the forest behind. We will certainly not put up a high fence there because our neighbors are only a few weeks a year in their house so we are not bothered by that.
In spite of our high fence Oni still struck when we were in the garden so that too would not have helped I'm afraid.
Furthermore we have a house and garden where there is always work. And as soon as we can we are always working as you have seen in those 2 weeks.
We also found you very nice people. And also I found it nice to talk with you and had nice conversations with you.
Had a wonderful midweek with my husband. The house lends itself to 8 people. Four neat bedrooms/beds and three bathrooms. Above all, it is very clean and everything is there. From 'forgotten coffee' to kitchen utensils such as cheese slicer and corkscrew. We were welcomed with a delicious merlot. We spent our days hiking in the area. The walking routes can be followed from the house.

Lovely vacation home. Beautiful large garden. Lots of places to be for a while. Super convenient that two bedrooms have private bathrooms and two bedrooms share a bathroom. Owners have found a nice mix to furnish an old house super cozy. Kitchen is compact but everything you need is there. Right around the corner begins the forest, on the other corner the village. Great house to go with a small group. Less suitable for small children and people who are less mobile.
We stayed at Au Foyer for 5 days with the family including supporters and the dog. The cottage was fine, enough space for everyone to enjoy themselves in the living room, dining room, kitchen or garden.
Certainly the garden is grandiose for the dog to have a good run after the tennis ball but we ourselves could sit at the two picnic tables or in the covered log cabin.
Also in the area is plenty to do like visiting the village of Durbuy or hiking in the woods (Although it would be nice if they would do the signage for the walks a little better, then hopefully we had not lost twice ... ;-) but of course that is something for the local tourist office).
Despite the somewhat gloomy days in terms of weather, we had a great time!
We had a very nice weekend with 6 adults and 2 children, partly due to the beautiful large garden at the residence.
What a lovely vacation home. We felt so welcome and partly due to the beautiful weather, it seemed like summer, we could fully enjoy everything that the house, inside and outside, had to offer. Astrid and Victor were lovely neighbors and so hospitable! After many years of renting this house is number 1 as far as we are concerned! We would love to come back!

Nice house, good location. Only downside is that there are steps to the backyard and by the terrace a kind of "ditch" because the house is lower. Great house for adults who have good mobility and without small children. From here there are good walks.

We stayed in this charming house with adults, a child and 2 dogs. The garden is fantastic, with multiple seating areas and fenced in (important for dog owners). In terms of equipment, we did not miss anything. For us it was the perfect place to stay.
The nice and uncomplicated owner lives next door and has a dog herself.
The only drawback is that the bedrooms under the roof are heated at night when the outside temperature is high. There is even a fan available for summer, but we did not need it.
The location is on the edge of the beautiful village. You are quickly in the village, but also just steps away from a circular walk.
The interior of the house is very cozy and attractive. However, the kitchen is very dated! For the rest fine beds and beautiful surroundings. We had a great time there for a weekend.
