Here, in Les Ru, Italy, time does not seem to exist. The tiny village is tucked between the mighty mountain walls of the Aosta Valley, literally at the end of the inhabited world. The road stops here, the trails begin. There is no traffic, no noise, no rush. Only nature, with its valleys full of alpine lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and endless hiking trails. Amidst this backdrop lies Chalet Il Cervo, a traditional mountain cottage - or "baita" as the Italians say, built of stone and wood, lovingly restored by a local family who are step by step revitalizing the entire village. Some houses have already been beautifully refurbished, others are still waiting their turn. The whole exudes authenticity, simplicity and charm.
A warm welcome full of character
As soon as you follow the path from the road to the front door, the shed antlers above the entrance welcome you with a smile - a subtle reference to the name of this special residence. Inside, everything immediately feels familiar and secure. The chalet is furnished entirely on one level and exudes an authentic atmosphere thanks to sturdy wooden beams and decorations from the region.
Cozy living room with mountain views
At the heart of the chalet you will find a cozy living room where a pellet stove provides cozy warmth after a day outdoors. From the comfortable couch - or even from bed - the two windows at the back are more likely to catch your attention. They offer unforgettable views of the surrounding mountain peaks.
Italian cooking and dining
The open layout allows cooking, eating and sleeping to blend seamlessly. The kitchen is a tribute to Italian tradition: made of robust wood and stone, equipped with a generous gas stove, hot air oven and a percolator for Italian-style coffee. You dine at the wooden table with characteristic bistro chairs, covered with a traditional tablecloth as it belongs in the mountains.
Sleeping area: intimate and cozy
The sleeping area is placed semi-transparently in the room. A soft Italian curtain envelops the bed, while a hanging book holder with beautiful Italian books invites you to read a little more before going to bed. Right next to the bedroom is the bathroom, where simplicity and pure materials prevail.
Outdoor enjoyment in the Alps
Outside, the enjoyment continues as well. In the summer months, sun loungers are ready to relax in the fresh mountain air. The covered picnic area and barbecue are perfect for long evenings under the alpine sky. And practical: near the chalet you have your own parking space, so you can easily bring your luggage and groceries to your piece of paradise.
