Waking up in an ancient mountain village, at almost 2000 meters above sea level. The air is fresh, the silence impressive, and as soon as you open the shutters you see it: a view that is never the same. Clouds pass slowly over the mountain peaks, sunlight glides over the rocks and meadows, and occasionally you hear only the sound of a babbling brook in the distance. The small village is tucked between the mighty mountain walls of the Aosta Valley, literally at the end of the inhabited world. The road stops here, the trails begin. Inside, a warm and cozy interior awaits, furnished with natural materials and original details. At the heart of the living room is a fireplace, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or an Italian book from the shelf in the evening by the crackling fire. The large wooden table is the centerpiece of the living area.
The kitchen, built of wood and stone, is simple. A fridge freezer, Italian cooking utensils and a percolator for the typical strong espresso. You can of course bring your own Nespresso machine, but the real Italian experience begins with that little mug pot on the stove.
From the living room you step outside onto the balcony, where the view looks straight into the mountains. Here, even breathing feels like relaxation.
The bathroom, on the first floor, has a special charm: one of the walls is an exposed rock wall, giving the feeling as if you were showering in the middle of nature. The water is pure, cool and clear. You will also find a sink, closet and toilet .
Through a wooden staircase you reach the upper floor, where there are two bedrooms separated by a sliding door. Both rooms have a double bed (160 cm wide) with soft blankets and mountain views. One of the rooms also has an extra guest bed, ideal for a child or third guest.
Outside you have a private garden with picnic table, barbecue and, in summer, deck chairs to relax in the mountain sun. The smell of pines, the sound of running water and the view of the snow-capped peaks make this a place to spend hours without having to do anything.
Chalet Stambecco is a stay for those who love simplicity, peace and nature. Luxury is found here in the silence, in the space around you, in the mornings full of sunlight on the mountainsides.
