Tucked away in the charming village of Gros-Fays, in the south of the Ardennes, lies La Charpente. Once a hunting lodge, it is now a stylishly renovated vacation home where history meets modern comfort. The robust beams, warm materials and the large industrial window give the house character, while its location in the Semois valley guarantees peace and nature. Here you will enjoy space, coziness and a touch of luxury - the ideal place for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
A unique blend of history and modern luxury
You step directly into a spacious hall where three brocante bistro chairs along the wall welcome you. A nod to the past, but with a warm, homely atmosphere.
In the open living kitchen everything is ready for delicious meals: an induction cooktop, oven, Nespresso machine, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher. From the kitchen you overlook the dining table, surrounded by sturdy chairs and a sofa - the perfect place for long evenings together. When the pellet stove is turned on, the space becomes extra cozy. The large window with window seats and soft cushions invites you to dream away with a book or just enjoy the view.
On the first floor are two bedrooms.
Bedroom one is practical and does not have a window, with two twin beds (80 cm).
Bedroom two has a double bed (160 cm) and a touch more light.
Both rooms have their own walk-in shower and sink.
The stairs take you to the impressive living room, where the original roof construction is visible. Here you will find a large lounge sofa and television - a nice place to plop down together.
Adjacent to the living room is the spacious master bedroom. Space, light and comfort are key here. The double bed (160 cm) and private walk-in shower with sink make it a private oasis. A separate toilet is located next to the room.
Through the French doors you can walk straight onto the terrace. Here the nature of the Ardennes awaits you: fresh air, greenery all around and endless hiking possibilities. Opposite the house you will find parking for two cars.

What a lovely house! With our 2 girls spent a week, were impressed with the house, the garden, the environment. You really need to go out to experience something because in the village of Gros-Faye is nothing to do. But if you come for coziness, peace and nature then this is the place to be!

Beautiful house, everything as in the pictures. Good location. Small note, there is only parking for two cars and not three. We had to move our car from the neighbor. A microwave would also be an added value to heat up dishes. But is definitely a nice location!
Beautifully renovated house with a fine layout. A lovely home to relax for a few days. Also with us, as well as other guests, uncertainty about the pallet stove. Just turn it on, when the temperature is right off and then on again! No description.... Very nice as a heater though!
With the family we really enjoyed the tranquility. Our stay was very satisfactory, cottage was clean and equipped with all amenities as described on the site. The terrace was blissful to stay until the late hours. Except for the mooing of the cows it was mouse quiet, blissful! Thanks for the nice vacation!

Very satisfied with the house. A place where we could really unwind. The house is laid out so that there is enough space for young and old to do their thing. Really clever work how this home was laid out with maintaining the authentic character on the one hand and modern, sleek finishes on the other. We will definitely return in the future. We thought the non-contact stay was fine in itself. There was room to ask questions via text or phone, but everything sorted itself out. Might be interesting to provide a small manual around the pallet stove. It did eventually sort itself out, but especially when turning the stove off, we had a moment of trepidation that we hadn't turned it off, when the stove still has to cool itself down and there are still a number of ignitions taking place, making it seem that it keeps burning. We did find this through the manual on the internet.

Contact with the owner was smooth. As a tip perhaps useful to have an information folder explaining things like the pellet stove and waste. Further nothing but praise! Nice garden, the seating by the window and the spacious sofa, everything top! Beautiful surroundings, you just need the car or bike, much to discover. Highly recommended!
Sober elegance. Pleasant stay in quiet Gros-Fays. The former barn was tastefully renovated with respect for the "Ardennes elements". It is therefore pleasant to stay in this spacious cottage with sunny terrace and garden.
